JACKSON WONDER LIMA BEAN/10 seeds per pack
'Jackson Wonder' lima bean was developed by Thomas Jackson of Atlanta and introduced commercially in 1888 by David Landreth & Sons of Philadelphia. This dwarf bush variety, growing about 12 to 18 inches tall, became popular among market gardeners for its prolific production throughout the summer without the need for tall poles, unlike traditional lima varieties that could require poles as tall as 16 feet.
Aside from its practical growth habit, 'Jackson Wonder' lima beans are notable for their striking appearance. Instead of the typical lima-bean green, these beans boast a brilliant scarlet color with maroon speckles, making them visually unique. In fact, their beauty was so appreciated that some Victorian hobbyists even crafted jewelry from them.
