The  Nagasaki long is from Japan, an heirloom. The Nagasaki has a big size, and an intense black colour. It is not bitter at all, hence can be eaten raw. The leaves are blackish green in colour and the green colour at the sleeve of the fruit looks so beautiful. 
This variety is particularly suited for hot-humid climates which tolerates easily.
The pulp has a velvety consistency and its flavour is similar to hazelnut.
It takes 45-60 days from seed to fruit.
